Because Healing Takes Support—Not Silence

At Nobody Plans On Dying, we understand that young people and families may face overwhelming challenges, including grief, trauma, substance use, exposure to drugs and alcohol, and emotional distress. Many do not know where to turn or may not feel comfortable asking for help.

NPOD helps bridge that gap by providing education, compassionate support, resource navigation, and connections to trusted community providers.

While NPOD does not provide medical treatment, substance use treatment, or licensed mental health therapy directly, we help youth and families identify appropriate services and connect with qualified professionals who can provide the level of care they need.

Our goal is simple: no young person or family should have to navigate these challenges alone.

Substance Use Support & Referrals

Breaking Cycles. Building Stronger Futures.

NPOD provides education, prevention resources, mentorship, and referrals for youth and families impacted by substance use, whether the concern involves a young person’s own substance use or the addiction of someone close to them.

Areas We Can Help With:

  • Early-stage experimentation and peer pressure involving drugs or alcohol
  • Fentanyl awareness, overdose prevention, and harm reduction education
  • Understanding the risks associated with counterfeit pills and other substances
  • Recognizing risk factors, triggers, and unhealthy behaviors
  • Building healthy coping skills, self-esteem, and future-focused decision-making
  • Supporting youth affected by a loved one’s substance use
  • Connecting individuals and families with substance use counselors, treatment programs, recovery resources, and other qualified community providers

Our role is to educate, support, and help individuals find the right resources before substance use leads to devastating consequences.

Mental Health & Therapy Referrals

Creating Pathways to Healing, Grief Support, and Mental Health Care

Grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges can have a significant impact on a young person’s life. NPOD helps youth and families connect with licensed therapists, mental health professionals, grief counselors, and trauma-informed providers in the community.

We Can Help Connect Families With Support For:

  • Grief and loss, including the loss of a loved one to overdose or sudden death
  • Anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and mood-related concerns
  • Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
  • Bullying, isolation, identity concerns, and social withdrawal
  • Family conflict and communication challenges
  • Crisis and higher-level mental health needs

NPOD does not provide clinical mental health treatment or crisis intervention directly. Instead, we help families understand available options and connect them with qualified professionals and organizations that can provide appropriate care.

If someone is experiencing an immediate mental health or medical emergency, please call 911 or contact 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Family Support & Referrals

Supporting the Whole Family

Substance use, grief, trauma, and other life challenges rarely affect just one person. They can impact the entire family.

NPOD provides families with education, support, and connections to community resources that may help strengthen relationships and create healthier paths forward.

Support and referrals may include:

  • Resources for improving communication between youth and parents or guardians
  • Support resources for siblings and other family members
  • Education for families navigating addiction, recovery, or relapse
  • Grief resources for families affected by overdose or substance-related loss
  • Referrals to licensed family therapists, substance use counselors, treatment providers, recovery programs, and other community-based services

Our role is to help families understand that resources are available, identify appropriate next steps, and connect them with professionals who can provide the specialized support they need.
